Day 1000 Never did I imagine

Today is Friday. Today marks 1000 days of writing as a commitment to my son, Matthew. Never did I imagine that my son would ever have to suffer such an unspeakable injustice.
Who ever imagines that her kid would be tortured and imprisoned for fabricated charges.
You know what scares me the most? 1000 days passed seemingly quickly from that fatal day of sentencing. Will I be writing for another 1000?
It’s true. They have broken our family; but, they have not defeated us, nor have they stolen who we are.
There is no victory here. There is only a deep sadnes; a fire to right the wrongs; a passion to cling to what is good, what is noble, what is true.
My dear friend across the ocean told me to stay strong. We encourage each other as a family to do that even if it means another 1000 days.

Peace and much love.
