Today is Monday. Today, I flew back from Augusta, Georgia. There is always a jumble of emotions after an event, especially one as important as the vigil of support for young Reality Winner.
I was very glad to meet mom, Billie and supporters as well. It’s encouraging to see people from all over who have their eyes wide open.
To hear Reality’s voice on the phone when Mom told her about the vigil and each one of us having the opportunity to shout our greetings, well wishes and words of love to her.
Love is an action.
Now that I am home; the reality of a young woman still sitting in jail; her mom still without her child safely in her arms hits hard. I know that feeling so very well. Each time I speak to my son and another birthday looms, I am reminded how empty it is without my Matt.
I am looking for a miracle for Reality; a miracle that real justice might prevail.
It’s been almost 8 years for Matt; yet I do not give up hope.
Dearest Billie, may peace, love and hope burn ever bright for you like a candle in the darkness.
